World Communion Sunday

Dear Friends,

It is with great joy that I have begun my call at New Hope this week! I have been so moved by your warm welcome, and I eagerly anticipate our time of growing together as God leads us on this next adventure. I look forward to meeting many of you on Friday and Sunday as we begin this season with loving fellowship and worship together.

This Sunday is World Communion Sunday, and we will celebrate the Lord's Supper. In the sermon, we will be exploring the theme of remembrance, reflecting on Jesus' words, "Do this in remembrance of me." In preparation for Sunday, I would love it if you would think of someone, or a group of people, that you would especially like to remember in the service. This could be a person you know, or it could be a group of people that you don't know personally but would like to remember in prayer (people you have read about in the news, etc.). These persons could be alive, or they may have passed on from this life. They could be nearby, or anywhere around the world. Please bring to the service a small token of the person/group of people you would like to remember (a photo, card, newspaper clipping, etc.). Hold onto this token during the service, and when you come forward for communion, please place your item on the communion table. We will close our celebration of the Supper in prayer, remembering Jesus' love for us, as well as our love for all those around the world, here and afar, whom we have brought forward for remembering.

Thank you. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

With great love,
Kim
